Water protection, what are the rules to respect?

Plastic bags, balls, shoes, packaging materials : if we do not dispose of the waste properly, sooner or later they will end up at sea, not going to protect the waters.

In waters and oceans there are also microplastics, which derive from the abrasion of tires, from washing synthetic fabrics or from the disintegration of plastic waste, for this reason it is necessary to ensure that water protection takes place.

Microplastics can be absorbed by marine organisms: the presence of these microparticles has been found in many animals.

To pollute the waters with waste are also fishermen who lose their nets in the open sea or simply throw the broken ones from boats.

The water cycle

The first life forms appeared billions of years ago in ocean waters and for a long time water remained the only environment in which life could manifest itself.

The water present on our planet, whether in liquid, solid or aeriform form, is stored in natural reservoirs made up of oceans and seas, glaciers and sea ice, water tables, lakes, rivers and atmosphere.

In nature, water carries out a continuous cycle which consists in the exchange of water between the atmosphere, the soil, the surface waters, the deep waters and the living beings.

Most of the water on our planet is salty and bitter because many salts are dissolved in it.

To be highlighted the determining role of the sea with respect to the climate is in fact the most important thermostat on the planet.

The sea attenuates diurnal / nocturnal and seasonal temperature changes, thus keeping air temperatures within tolerable values ​​for living organisms.

The sea has traditionally had a strategic importance for human life thanks to the large quantities of food obtained from it (molluscs, fish, crustaceans, algae).

Since ancient times, fishing has been a major food resource for humanity, a source of employment and economic benefits.

Aquatic resources, although renewable, are not unlimited and need careful management to allow the contribution to the nutritional, economic and social well-being of the growing population.
